If You're Wondering What the Hell Is Going On With UFOs, I Got You.
Since literally nobody has asked me, I thought I should offer some thoughts on Trump’s promise to release all government files on UFOs and alien life. Here is the message he posted on his social media account:
The first thing I will note is that Trump obviously didn’t write this. The language is too exact. Impossible to know who wrote it, of course, but it wasn’t Trump alone. Which means this wasn’t some whim. Which implies that conversations have been occurring within high-levels of the administration about this topic. Which suggests that the week’s earlier flippant comments from Obama (“aliens are real but I haven’t seen them”) may have accelerated the timeline a bit, but most likely didn’t catalyze the process.
So, why now?
There are some fascinating (and eerie) points of convergence happening that the general public is unaware of – more than likely, they won’t amount to a hill of beans but I thought I would lay out what I know about this topic, what I don’t know, and where I think this is heading.
A couple weeks ago, a British UFO researcher named Mark Christopher Lee announced that a source within the Trump researcher had informed him that Trump is going to give a Disclosure speech on July 8th of 2026, the 80th anniversary of the alleged UFO crash in Roswell. In a subsequent interview, Lee said his source will go public in a press conference on May 1st of this year, so watch for that as an early indicator of whether Trump will actually give his “We are alone” speech.
Lara Trump then teased the speech on her podcast, although it seems as though she may have been relying on the same information I am regarding Lee’s “leak,” rather than hearing firsthand from anybody who would actually know.
Interestingly, Trump was asked about this topic on Air Force One. He responded that Obama had disclosed “classified information” in his response. He then said he might “get him out of trouble by declassifying.”
As far as my own involvement in this topic, a couple of years ago I was invited into a small group chat with a couple folks in regular contact with a prominent figure in Ufology. I don’t want to reveal the person’s name because I don’t want to betray any trusts, so you’ll have to take me at my word.
In that chat, which occurred over about 18 months, I was fed information which explicitly stated that a massive object is entering our solar system. The object was first spotted several years ago by the European Space Agency and was subsequently confirmed by our own. In terms of size, it was described to me as “planet-sized,” which set off a massive red flag in my own brain, as a planet-sized object would surely have gravitational effects on our own planets, no?
Next, I was told this object was decelerating as it approached our solar system. I was told it would arrive in 2027. This is significant because the date “2027” has been floating around Ufology for some time as an important year by mysterious sources (everything in ufology, including this article, seems to involve “mysterious sources”).
Finally, I was shown a photograph of the object, which had been, apparently, taken from a ground-based observatory somewhere in the US. What I saw looked like gray and fuzzy. It could have been anything.
I would republish the photograph here but I believe the person who originally posted it to our chat removed it because of that person’s belief in the sensitivity of the image.
To be clear, while I find this story fascinating, I don’t find it credible. People way more prominent in the UFO community than myself – which is to say I am barely in the UFO community at all and certainly not prominent – such as the filmmaker Jeremy Corbell, says that the narrative about a 2027 object is some kind of psyop by our government. In a video released months ago, Corbell repeated exactly what I’m telling you now:
Here’s part of what he said: “Okay. So UFOs are real, and they’ve been here a long time, and that’s the truth. But the lie is coming. All indications, like ALL of them, is that that lie is going to be that there is a craft slowly making its way to us here on Earth. And that is the lie they’re gonna want you to believe.”
Got that? Same. Exact. Story. You can watch the entire episode from which this clip is drawn HERE.
I don’t know who’s telling the truth about this, but I’m going to apply Occam’s Razor here and say it’s far more likely that somebody wants to convince people about an imminent alien incursion than there actually being an alien incursion. So I’m siding with Corbell on this one.
I would also point out that there’s NO REASON IN THE WORLD why somebody like me (or my source, for that matter) should have been given this information if it were true. In fact, I’m the LAST person you should give that information to because I’m very likely to blab it out like I’m doing right now.
In other words, I’m a perfect useful idiot.
Ok. But here we are in 2026 with all this Disclosure stuff, including the summer release of a new Spielberg film entitled Disclosure Day, happening at the same time. Odd all on its own.
But now let’s get spooky.
Since around 2019, we’ve seen heightened interest in this topic from one Peter Thiel. As you know, Thiel is a shady South African billionaire weirdo whose company, Palantir, is the software engine behind the growing authoritarian surveillance state. Why was Thiel interested in UFOs? It remains unclear to me, but all indications are that Thiel has become convinced that extraterrestrial technology in in the hands of somebody, and that we need to disclose in order to exploit and commercialize that technology.
In 2024, a Thiel protégé and venture capitalist named Jesse Michels began American Alchemy, a podcast in which Michels delves deep into fringe scientific topics, including UFOs. In a short time, American Alchemy has become one of the most important destinations/clearing houses for ufological information and theories. Michels, too, has talked about the 2027 date.
Question: is Thiel behind that date and, if so, why?
A small, spooky note related to all of this: for years, we’ve been getting warnings about exactly this scenario from an “experiencer” named Chris Bledsoe. Bledsoe is well-known in ufology as something akin to a prophet. He’s a deeply religious southern Christian who regularly encounters, and videotapes, “orbs.” He’s also an energetic healer who, himself, was healed of a debilitating chronic disease by an ethereal being he calls “The Lady.” In 2012, “The Lady” prophesized to Chris that the alignment of the star Regulus with “the gaze of the Sphinx” would herald in a new age of understanding. That alignment is set to take place around Easter of 2026.
Vague enough to be anything, of course. Bledsoe’s son, Ryan, has specifically said that this prophecy is about Disclosure and a battle involving demonic forces. On February 1st of this year, he wrote “On February 20 we will experience an alignment of Saturn and Neptune so rare that the precise conjunction occurring at 0° has not occurred in thousands of years. After February 20th’s alignment things will get much more intense.”
(I hope it’s clear but just in case it isn’t, I’m agnostic/skeptical on Bledsoe’s claims. If you’re interested in his story, he wrote a fascinating book called UFO of God: The Extraordinary True Story of Chris Bledsoe.)
February 19th is the day Prince Andrew was arrested owing to his involvement in the Epstein Files, the first time a member of the British royal family has been arrested in almost 400 years, and is also the day Trump made his promise to declassify all UFO material. I will note that Epstein was deeply invested in several Thiel funds. Epstein, too, appeared interested in UFOs.
I know that’s a lot, but it leads to the final question: where do I think all this is heading?
I think there are two likely scenarios. The first, more likely, scenario is that this is all another smokescreen for Trump’s crimes and corruption. The government will likely dribble out some intriguing, but vague, documents and videos which do nothing to forward the conversation but keep people arguing while Trump, Thiel, and their cronies fly their drones and pick our pockets. This is, far and away, the MOST likely scenario and the one I expect to play out over the next several months.
Less likely, but still possible, is that Lee had it correct. Trump may very well be planning to give the “we are not alone” speech in July. The results of that speech, should it happen, will vary wildly depending on how it’s handled. Because this is Trump, if it happens, it will happen in the dumbest possible way, which will lead to confusion, mockery, and derision. If, on the other hand, he makes such an announcement alongside at least a couple other world leaders, or prominent American scientists, and presents voluminous evidence, that would be the biggest story in the history of the world.
Don’t count on it.
Something’s definitely happening here but what it is ain’t exactly clear. As in all political fights, there are factions within the UFO world which extend, allegedly, to the highest reaches of government and private industry. There are those who want to disclose and those who don’t. But I don’t know what there even is to disclose. I suspect most of them do not, either. One of the fascinating things about this topic is that the deeper people get into it, the less clear it becomes. What starts as a question about lights in the sky turns into a reading of the Book of Enoch. Whatever’s happening, we know there’s money and power involved. That’s a bad combination anywhere, but especially here on Earth.

As an astronomer, married to an astronomer who's principal work has been an all sky survey and catalog, and being acquainted with many, many extremely capable amateur astronomers with high end gear and an obsession with hunting for and capturing images and data of near solar system objects, I am positive a planet sized object due to arrive in a year would be well known and well documented. It would not be possible to keep this a secret.
Like the Fermi Paradox, we have the Trump(tm) Paradox - "If aliens were real, Trump would have tweeted about them already". This, of course, leads to the Trump(tm) Paradox-Paradox, "If Trump says it, it's not true." Then, the super-secret Trump(tm) Paradox-Paradox-Paradox that says, "Aliens ARE real and all alien activity is subject to a 10-50% tariff (can be paid in the preferred currency of your home planet depending on the exchange rate)."
