Another mass shooting in America yesterday. Two dead, three injured. The shooting took place at an event in Butler, Pennsylvania. Thankfully, and unusually, it was the day’s only mass shooting. The day before, however, four people were killed and one injured during a mass shooting in Wichita, Kansas. The police are still investigating. Five were injured during a shooting that same day in Louisville, KY. Five more injured that same day in Chicago. The day before, Wichita had another mass shooting which left four injured. In Alameda, California, four dead and one injured when a man shot his wife, six-year-old son, and in-laws. The man also shot his one-year-old child; the shooter was arrested uninjured. Neighbors reported that the family had recently moved to the neighborhood and there were no indications of impending violence. That same day, five injured during a mass shooting in Boston, MA. A couple days earlier, two dead and three injured in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. One of the dead was a two-year-old. Another person killed and three injured that same day in Charlotte, North Carolina. Six injured in New Bedford, MA during a shooting. No arrests have been made. Nineteen injured and two dead after a shooting during a block party in Detroit. Another house party shooting, this one in Roper, NC, left one man dead and two injured. Akron, Ohio – four injured. Another four in Milwaukee, WI. Five dead, including the shooter, and three dead after a shooting in Florence, KY. The suspect, who was charged with raping a 13-year-old in 2021, shot himself in the head. That’s one week of mass shootings in America.
The week before, a drive-by shooting in Clarksdale, MS. One dead, three injured. The injured reported getting into an argument at a local club before the shooting. Eleven people have been murdered in Clarkdale this year. That same day, July 5th, four injured during a shooting in Poughkeepsie, NY. Four more in Pontiac, MI. Two separate incidents that same day in Chicago killed one and injured fourteen others. Same day, July 5th: a shooting in Albany, NY leaves six injured. All of the victims were teenagers. Four more injured in Tampa, FL that same day. A 21-year-old man was killed in Albany, GA, and three injured during a nightclub shooting. On July 4th, four injured in Nashville, TN. Eight injured and one killed in Philadelphia, PA, where our nation was founded. Two separate July 4th shootings in Ft. Worth, TX killed five people, including two little girls and injured five others. One shooting took place at a block party, the other at a car wash. Five more injured and one killed at another block party, this one in St. Louis, MO. That same day in St. Louis, another seven at a viewing party for fireworks. The youngest victim was thirteen. In Ocean Springs, MS, sixteen injured, including two children, at block party when a 69-year-old-man fired birdshot from a rifle into the home of a neighbor who was hosting a party. A few days earlier, five injured at a shooting in Charleston, MO. Three dead and one injured that same day, July 1st, in Cincinnati, OH. Two of the deceased were father and son. Another person killed and three injured that day in Philadelphia, PA when a shooting erupted at a restaurant. In Sylvania, GA, six injured at a block party on June 29th. Another week of mass shootings in America.
In Niagara Falls, NY, four injured. That same day in Corpus Christi, TX: three injured and two dead. One of the dead was fifteen, the other eighteen. Seven shot in Crete, NB that day. No fatalities. Two days earlier, four injured during a mass shooting in Milwaukee, WI. Two dead and five injured in Lancaster, CA that same day. It was the fourth shooting in Lancaster over a 24 hour period. Five people murdered and one injured after a shooting North Las Vegas, NV two days earlier. The shooter fired into two separate apartments and killed himself when confronted by police. Two separate mass shootings on the same day in Dayton, OH. The first took place at a house party. Two dead, five injured. The other occurred during a domestic dispute. Four injured, including an eleven-year-old girl. The shooter killed himself. Another four injured, this time in York, PA. Four more in Vallejo, CA the day before. An eighteen-year-old was killed and four others injured during an early morning shooting in Winston-Salem, NC. Ten shot in Columbus, OH. In her statement to the media, Police Chief Elaine R. Bryant referenced two other Columbus shooting that had taken place in recent days, one at a nightclub and another street shooting. A man was killed and three injured in Tampa, FL that same day. The victim was a rapper in town to celebrate his birthday. Back to St. Louis, MO where five were injured and one killed during an overnight shooting. In Rochester, NY on that same day, six were shot after watching the local Jazz Fest. Nobody killed. Three injured and one killed in Trenton, NJ that day. Nine shot in Montgomery, AL when 362 rounds were fired into a block party. Nobody killed. Another house party, another shooting – this time in Canton, MS. Five injured, one killed. Glen Allen, VA: six injured. A bar shooting in Louisville, KY killed a forty-year-old man and injured seven others. The day before, June 21st, four people were killed and nine injured in Fordyce, AR. The shooting took place outside a grocery store. The murder victims ranged from 23-81. One dead and three injured that same day in Meridian, MS. Four shot in Washington, DC. No deaths.
