I’m sorry I can’t completely sympathize: who on earth takes a vacation in January and doesn’t go either to the Caribbean or Hawaii?!

Not sure if you're visiting France just for the wintry weather, to get away from the warm winter in Savannah, but you could've just gone to visit Boston...

Merci for the vicarious ride on your contrails. My French vacation to weather January 2025 shitstorms hit financial headwinds, so I will endure layovers and visit Baie de Somme in my daydreams.

Wishing you the perfect baguette, Little Prince✨

You will acclimate, probably just in time to head home 🤷🏻‍♂️.

In the meantime, consider a wander through a Carrefour for some nice merino wool layers. We have opted for Alicante Spain this year, just because it's that much warmer & has better Sherry.

One of my favourite radio clips was during a quiz on an English sports station:

“Who came runners up to Lyon in the French league last season?”

“Bordeaux”

Thanks for these two bangers:

“…as an American, I have always been opposed to those who would seek warmth and kindness.”

“I ignored her advice because I always ignore her advice out of stubbornness and a sense that if I listen to her about one thing then I will have to listen to her about everything, which I refuse to do because I am a man.”

As you are typing the e, keep your finger pressing on it and you should get a choice of every possible accent, é or è and so many more.

If you’re on a phone then you keep your finger pressed on the letter to choose from a wide range of letters. If you’re on a windows PC then you have to do a version of twister to select the right combination of numbers from the number pad whilst also holding down Alt.

Love this! Thanks for keeping it real. It's refreshing since many writers tend to gloss over the more tedious parts of travel. Also, I recommend listening to "Foux du Fafa" by Flight of the Conchords to practice your French. You will be fluent in no time. Soup du jour! Baguette!
