As I’ve been brushing up on my French on Duolingo for the last trois ans in preparation of a potential move there, it’s been so fun to read about your travels and be able to understand the the French phrases dropped. Merci.
My time in Montpellier as a college exchange student... sigh. If you see a 40-something American guy who looks like he never moved past the W Bush administration smack him for me.
You met Roberto and Carolyn because "el mundo es un pañuelo" as you may remember from your mastery of Spanish. The world is a handkerchief. It fits in your pocket or the palm of your hand.
I’m an American living in the south of France for the last 15 years and I’m just enchanted by your travels through the region. Your observations are spot on, and are my daily read that makes me smile. Bravo!
I still haven't gotten over Tori and Dean.

I'll have a read. Escape Hatch sounds interesting

"Something about manicured greenery gives me the heebie-jeebies. Is that weird?"
That is not weird. That's why I prefer English gardens which are tended to the max, but don't appear to be.
Michael, thank you for the generous comments and plug of our Substack. I had a great time talking to you both last night. Safe travels!
Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. Until we meet again!

Thank you for sharing your interesting French adventures and keeping my mind off of you know who doing you know what.
I like to think of tiny bedrooms as the walls closing in to give you a great big, long hug. Sweet dreams!
Mon dieu, I forgot about Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott!
Do you play guitar at all Michael? I feel like a good half of all comedians do. Me included.
Read the part above the "upgrade to paid" button:
"I don’t play guitar and I’m terrible at piano. Keep me out of our your ears by subscribing to my written work."
Of course - I missed that because I am already subscribed so didn't need to be talked into it :)
I follow Carolyn and Roberto? too. Really enjoy their Substack!
