I saw you the other day at Gallery Espresso! I wasn’t sure it was you till I found this blog. Wish I would have said hi. was a huge fan of the State: I recently moved to Savannah for my pure love of it. I agree with all you say.

You've described Savannah the way I've experienced it when my daughter went to Scad, and we visited her several times. Savannah is lovely, and I can see why you're enjoying it now. But is it a permanent place to live in?

As a St. Paulitan (ite, I don't know) I can confirm it is too cold for cockroaches here, plus we have the World's Only Gay Soccer Bar, so that must count for something.

My cousin has lived in Savannah for years and loves it! Welcome home!

"The men here simply own too many salmon-colored shorts." God, that short sentence says so much.

That's probably the only way I'll ever convince my wife to move to Minneapolis...

Salmon colored shorts 😂 I was born and raised in middle GA and attended my first year of college in Savannah. I wanted to be a cool SCAD kid but I went to the state college there and worked at Abercrombie and Fitch at the mall across the street back when they used to sell Out of Africa safari clothes, $1500 globes, hand-carved ivory shaving brushes and had an in-store library with rare out of print books. (For real! Look it up!) I don't see myself living in the south again, but you never know. Savannah is a gorgeous town, especially those lush town squares. Charleston is lovely as well. Are the Midnight in the Garden tours still going strong? That book came out a few years after I left and, after reading it, I felt like the author had uncovered a Savannah I couldn't see when I lived there but recognized clearly on the page.

There’s a new fictional murder novel set in Savannah - The Kingdoms of Savannah. Great read.

Sure, the South has that humidity, but just think of the good in living in Savannah.

If you need help paying for a cool design school, you can always hook up with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, the largest private employer in Savannah, for a part-time job making biz jets. And you can buy one of their cool jets when he and you make your first few millions.

Well, okay, a lot more than a few millions, but oh, the coolness of it all!

Dear newly minted Southern Gentleman, come to Atlanta! Actually Decatur. Very walkable, very liberal, less humid. But before you leave Savannah please try to revive Gottlieb’s Bakery, the best deli imaginable. Then make that three and one half hour drive. Please.

I grew up outside ATL and Decatur is just...it's lovely. Plus Dekalb Farmer's Market is the best grocery store on earth!

I know Chippewa Square, Savannah from the famous Tom Hanks movie filmed there. Sounds like a fine place to visit 😁
