Keep it 100% Michael Ian Black. Staying true to yourself is how you will find the balance.

I'd like to "echo" all the other comments :) I love your writing style and content. I look forward to whatever you have to offer. It's "really" and authentic :) Give us more but keep home/life balance.

You're fantastic in everything you put your mind to. Political, non sequitur, traditional humor, etc. I think the majority of people realize that about you so in answer to your question about what kind of content viewers would like to see, I think that's your answer. Stay true to who you are and write/speak/criticize/joke about what you feel. Also maybe collaborate with @Drew & Natalie Dee :)

I like your political posts, though I don't always agree with you (I think I sit pretty comfortably to your left.) And I really appreciate your more personal posts as well. I'm not as interested in the UFO as related posts, but I think you should keep those because this your space. I'm happy to visit it, though. Thank you for having me.

It's a conundrum. I lean more to the right but really appreciate logical and respectful alternative opinions and positions. For me, a person who really enjoys your comedy and wit, your political views don't equate to a bad person or someone who should not be appreciated for your talent and contributions to entertainment. X is so big (500-600m) that unfortunately, creeps can come with it, and I can't imagine Bluesky won't have some of that creep in when it gets above 50m or so and is attracting people from both political views.

I just think vitriol in dialogue with others that you disagree with can get sparked from demeaning other's views and the perception that you are 100% confident all of your accusations are true.

If you enjoy Bluesky, that is great. In the big picture, it would be nice if people that are funny diverse in their views and a good example of civility were present in the larger communities whether that is X or anywhere else.

“What kind of balance between political and personal and esoteric?”

I’m seeing an equilateral triangle with these topics at each point then it rotates flat becoming a three dimensional metal structure very smooth and ultra modern. Then the sides collapse into three arms balanced on a central spike. The arms are ornate and a balance pan on three chains depends from each. You put a nugget in one then another in no particular order. Size and density vary. Gold? Chocolate? The balance swings. Weight and counterweight. It is all mesmerizing. It is all needed. Thank you.

I like what I’m reading. Mixing it up is good but have been part of my therapy since the dreadful day in November. Thank you.

I share your love of all things high strangeness, so those will always be my favorite types of posts, although I know they’re probably not your biggest crowdpleasers. Anything personal or esoteric. I understand and respect your reasons for wanting to write about politics, but I’m trying to avoid that subject at the moment.

I like most everything you write. A good mix of political, social issues, professional, and personal seems the way to go.

Not much help but: Whatever you want to write and whenever you want to write it, I'm game. (Just don't let it interfere with having a life!)

Wow. I'm thinking any query posted to A.I. that started with 'if you were Satan and wanted to eliminate the white race...".....ought not to be taken seriously. Geez, the time on these bozos' hands...

Well said!

With the retreat of liberals from Xitter, I expect we'll see far more infighting there on the right.

The far right simply cannot exist without perceived 'enemies' to blame all their problems on...so they follow their enemies.

HOWEVER, many will stay. With the complete absence of their perceived 'enemies', they will simply turn on each other.

For not being white enough, toxically masculine enough, submissive enough, radical enough, etc.

Republican women will probably bear the brunt of the hate, and that may not be the worst thing.

But the thing to remember is not that it's a matter of 'they drove us away', but than we led the way out and they felt compelled to follow.

Regardless of how they act or sound, they very obviously STILL don't feel like they've won or are winning.

I think that's important to remember.

I am here because I value your viewpoint. I enjoy the help getting out of my own head, and I've been thankful for your perspective on things I see but might have a different take on.

I'm also a person who gets a lot of hate from straight white dudes, so I value the ones who have values similar to mine. You, Chris Titus, and a couple other people help keep me grounded.

Keep sharing what you're comfortable with. All of it is really great. Parasocial relationships are weird. I will always do my best to mitigate the weird and respect whatever boundaries you need to put up to protect yourself. I'm sure I'm not alone.

I quote from your Substack posts more than any other. I like the mix. Feels like we're hanging out at your kitchen table with a mug of coffee. Any topic might show up, and your take is grounded in a reality that I recognize. I tried Bluesky a few months before the election and found myself in a silo, so deleted the app and hang out in Substack pretty much exclusively. Is Bluesky necessary for a Substack fan?
