I do like the Trump is weird” approach as he truly is. And Jr. is wired so pleasingly symmetrical

Anger materialized for me and I'm done with the party.

What does that mean? That you're not going to vote Dem because they replaced Biden?

Means I'm an independent from here on out - no donating or affiliation. And for THIS election I'll be casting a protest vote.

Wow, you fuckers are even dumber than she is. No mind of your own just what the Democrat party tells you. You’ve got the democrat’s dick jammed so hard down your throat you can’t even simp properly anymore.

Hi Scott, welcome to my Substack. I will note you didn't refute anything I said, merely threw ad hominem attacks. As I do with all new readers, I am happy to remind you that I don't tolerate insulting language directed at me or anyone else. Consider this your first and only warning. Aside from that, welcome!

You’re that football player from The State College who won the two rings but gambled them away on drugs and ball dipping?

Fair.

I just feel this is more of the artificial Kamala Fever campaign that has taken the world by storm.

My central complaint would be that she is giving no speeches, releasing no statements. And I think this is the intentional policy. They will present her at just this superficial level for the next 100 days, and quite possibly get her elected on buzz and momentum.

How is that healthy for anyone? Do we know what she would do with the Ukraine war? Does she know? How about Israel? Or fracking? She’s on record as saying she’d ban fracking on day one. I think some people in Pennsylvania would like to learn more about that.

It’s the opposite of democracy it is a one party state trying to implement an unpopular agenda by hiding from the voters in a game of musical chairs. And it won’t end well.

Great piece, Michael. Thank you. Let’s “Make America Laugh Again!”

I'd argue it's none of Republicans' business unless it's illegal, which it ain't. Enough of their "coronation" claptrap.

Yeah, I don’t remember Republicans complaining about an undemocratic process when Hillary got more votes than Trump but Trump won anyway.

I attended her first NEPA press campaign which was held in Scranton a few days ago, and hope is definitely the word I’d use to describe the energy that was in the room.

I couldn’t be happier. I know this is going to get very rough, look how disrespectful they have been to Biden. But it’s time for magats to go back into the trash bin where they belong. And we can never forget that they are there. All we can do is try to change one heart at a time.

dear michael,

i love this:

"Harris can run on policy and she can run on personality. We may never know her opinions on Hannibal Lecter, but that’s only because she’s out there talking about things that matter to Democratic voters: the booming Biden/Harris economy, women’s rights, the falling crime rates, the low unemployment rate, the manufacturing renaissance, the infrastructure bill, and just as importantly, she can run on human decency and compassion. She can run on the best of the American spirit instead of stoking the worst. The historic nature of her candidacy feels less important than the historic choice America now confronts. It is a choice less about two individuals than two visions of the nation we wish to embrace.

When Obama first ran, his campaign distilled his message down to a single word. It’s the same word Harris’s nascent campaign discovered lying just under the surface of an exhausted and dispirited electorate. Let Republican run on anger. We choose hope."

great piece as always, thanks for sharing!

A long time ago, when Harris first became a senator, a friend pointed her out as a face of the future and I was like, NO THANKS. She struck me as self-absorbed and more into showing off than getting things done, with a propensity for falling into word salad. Fast forward to 2024, and I am like, PLEASE DEAR GOD LET THIS WOMAN GET ELECTED. PLEASE, I AM BEGGING YOU, AMERICA, VOTE THE HARDEST YOU'VE EVER VOTED. So that's been my personal journey with Kamala.

Carolyn, I could not agree with you more. I do feel that Kamala is the right person for this time. She has embraced her roles as VP and now as our nominee for President. Now it’s up to all of us to help usher her and her administration in. Team work all the way.

I thought the same thing about Buttigieg. Now I love him.

I thought he was way out of his depth, and at first his time as Secretary of Transportation made me think I was right, but then he learned so much and improved so greatly over time I was really impressed. The ability to learn, adapt, and implement what has been learned is so important, and completely undervalued in American politics.
