I hope this isn't the end for The State, but I would entirely understand if it is. The fact that you were able to do a reunion tour at all is spectacular, and I wish I'd gotten to see it. I was a huge fan during the original MTV run -- I still routinely quote my favorite bits and whenever I see any of y'all in anything, excitedly say "Hey, (name) is from The State!" to my wife, who patiently/exasperatedly sighs "Yes, I know, you've told me that a million times."
Thanks for thirty years of making me laugh, Michael (and company). <3
Appears a roaring fun opportunity for fellowship with old friends while on tour. Doesn't matter how others perceive you all. That you are making memories with cherished friends is priceless.
Soooo bummed I couldn’t catch any dates on the tour. 😔I’m a total superfan with some fun State-themed vanity plates. 🤭 One of the first questions I ask people I have an instant connection with is ‘Did you watch The State?’ and those that say yes have always stood the test of time. There’s something about shared sense of humor that strengthens the bond and I appreciate everything you and the group have done to enrich our lives with clever humor.
Good luck tonight!! I hope everyone relishes the occasion! ❤️
Cool shit's always happening in Austin. Sorry I missed it. Not the perfect sunglasses, and same old young faces behind them. That's always... everywhere. But a friendship that lasts through the decades, and never fails? Shit. And laughter. I remember laughter... fucking Robert Plant. Bet you he had some nice specs, then AND now. Wonder what he's rocking? Mine are purple, but I don't wear them. I don't need to count every leaf on every tree.
One of my favorite bits I stole was creating an Ultima Online (90s MMORPG) character named Louie and obnoxiously doing the bit for hours at public squares, with an assist from a friend who would set the table for the bit before I arrived. Thanks Michael and the rest of the gang.
Thank you. I loved you guys then, and I love you now, every one of you crazy kids. The State was not like anything else, comedy-wise, then or now. And you are good human beings too? BONUS!
Did you record any of the shows? You skipped our area, but we would love to see *something.* We were big fans in the day, & have your shows on DVD. Porcupine Racetrack forever!!
Saw the Ryman show and just wanted to THANK YOU for bringing it to the people. I will continue to enjoy seeing/hearing/reading all of you in whatever endeavors are down the line. We noticed there were some cameras on the floor - any chance we will be able to watch some or all of any of these shows again?
Was the omission of David Wain intentional?
Of course not! I was trying to count and alphabetize at the same time and I forgot David. I corrected it immediately.
Excellent! I like my comedy idols to get along.
You guys were such a part of my childhood and teenage years. Thank you so much for all the laughs and incredible memories!

"You said Michael Showalter twice."
"I like Michael Showalter."
Who can name the film I'm obliquely referencing? Hint: it's a famous comedy.

Loved the show in Boston (Medford). I wasn’t that familiar with it but there is so much evergreen wonderful silly stuff - the world needs more.
psyched for the show tonight, thank you for gracing Austin with your presence❤️
Now all we need is another Stella tour - Michael Showalter, Michael Black and Michael Showalter

Poor David Wain - chopped liver.
