Never thought of slavery as being a good way to go to trade school for free. Seems awful woke of those enslavers.

Is it preposterous? Based on what movies mean to me and what movies have done for me, I tend to agree with Ethan Hawke as he explains here why human creativity matters

I mean, Tom Cruise is 60 and riding motorcycles off cliffs. Margot Robbie is Barbie. There's an element of preposterousness to it, yeah.

To be fair, the Barbie movie is a lot of fun. Preposterous or not. Saw it last night. On the surface, it looks like a superficial movie for little kids. But it was actually really DEEP, man! (Seriously!)

I wasn't commenting on the quality of the movie, only on the deep silliness of grown-ups playing Barbie dolls or superheroes or whatever.

Sorry, I was just going off on a separate tangent. I tend to do that.

(It is stunning - in a good way - of how daring of a movie Barbie is, especially coming from a major studio.)

But yes, I agree with your point. Adults playing roles like these, is probably the epitome of silliness.
