For the people who aren't sure about Biden because of Gaza, please remember the people here in America. I live in Georgia, a republican-controlled state, where the maternal mortality rate rivals that of former soviet countries. How many American women are dying at the hands of christian nationalists who impose barbaric total abortion bans? Let's please remember that Biden has done quite a bit: the largest climate bill in history, the CHIPS act, the infrastructure act, the appointment of the first black female supreme court justice, pushing for univerals pre-k, pushing for the child tax credit, appointing people to lead the NLRB that makes it easier to join a union, etc., etc. All of that with a 50-50 senate with Manchin and Sinema. Who else was going to get more out of those two? Yes, Biden should push for a cease-fire, of course. But Gaza would be the same or worse under Trump and everything else in this country would be far worse.

I realize I should've asked if you read Samuel Moyne's stuff on "tyrannophobia," the status-quo-preserving demonization of political villains by the left, which forecloses structural changes that would make these demons less powerful in the first place. I

Oddly, this is one of the most reassuring, la-plus-ca change visions of the nightmare scenario we're all huddling in the face of. I'm not sure whether to applaud your reasoned, self-aware, macro long-term view or say, Clean out your headgear, new guy. Guess I'll go with option A.

The conspicuous absence of outrage related to actual genicide happening in other parts of the world (India, China, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan to name a few) is notable. Care to explain?

I guess the only palpable difference is we are supplying the weapons killing Gazan children. We have before in Iraq and Afghan.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense, because no women or children have been killed in those other situations to which we have turned a blind eye. Any other guesses?

I think we should elect you president. You clearly want to argue yet know all the answers.

How is the Biden administration doing what it can to pressure Israel to pull back when it is bypassing Congress to send more weapons to Israel to kill more Palestinian civilians?

Why did his administration use asylum seekers in this country to leverage more aid to Israel?

I’m sorry, but we can’t be seeing the same images. Are you following any of the journalists on the ground in Gaza and seeing what their videos are showing? Children scooping up the guts of their siblings. Children with limbs blown off. Entire families wiped out. No hospitals. NICU babies left to rot. And I am being forced to pay for that.

I’m sorry about the impending nightmare that is another Trump presidency, but maybe people will care when that stuff is happening here to their families. We deserve what we get here when we support this kind of suffering around the world. The suffering may not stop, but I am not giving the Biden administration my vote. I hope the message is clear, however it’s not going to be.

The dems will always blame their constituents for a Trump presidency instead of looking in the mirror and making changes and stopping their support for flagrant violence in the name of white colonialism.

Your take on this stuff is extremely out of touch and that is why the dems will lose. Stop scratching your head wondering why this is happening and open your eyes.

I'm not sure I understand the "I know Trump will be a disaster but that's what this country deserves" take. If we agree things will be worse under Trump than Biden, then I don't understand why that's not the preferable option unless you really do want "that stuff is happening here to [American] families?"

I think things are going to get bad in this country regardless of who is in office. We are in the midst of a third world war under the Biden administration. I think the bad will happen quicker under a Trump presidency as it did the last time he was president. My hope is that we the people will move quicker also, as we did under the last Trump presidency. I fear we won’t have the opportunity to do so in time. I fear what is to come and what it means for me and mine and you and yours. However these fears exist under a Biden administration also and I can’t co-sign this anymore. I have voted “blue no matter who” in the last two elections even though I did not want to and the thanks I got as a donating, phone-banking, letter-writing constituent was dead children. I cannot, in good conscience support candidates who use my money to fund a genocide. My only power here is my vote. That’s it. And I am going to use it and I am letting my congresspeople know that I am going to use it. It’s up to them to change.

Ken Bone might be able to help you decide who to vote for. The biggest problem in a democracy is an uneducated electorate.

I know it’s not a partisan issue. But President Biden is bypassing Congress to send aid to Israel. That is who is in office now and that is who is doing it now. And that is who is sending me emails asking for my support. And this is my response. Hope that helps.

You don’t think we have been giving covert military aid in the millions if not billions to Israel, without congressional approval, since 1948?

Yes, I know the United States has been fueling this conflict for decades. Younger me voted for candidates with awful foreign policies who killed countless innocents. Present me is vowing not to do that anymore and moving my peers to do the same. Younger me believed all the killing was for a greater purpose to keep us safe. She was wrong.

You do what you want to with your vote. It’s yours and I guess you are ok with this continuing to happen. I am not signing my name on this anymore. I don’t know what else to do to help the democrats get it through their heads that we don’t want this. They didn’t learn their lesson in 2016 and I doubt they will in time for the election in November. So they will lose. Again.

Your congresspeople will laugh at you and your threat of voting for someone else. If they even open your email.

The dead children would’ve happened if trump had been president. Israel is and has been a bi-partisan problem since the creation of Israel. If anything, by Trump moving the Embassy to Jerusalem, he empowered Israel more than any former president ever. It’s not a blue red problem and if you can’t see that, you might want to study up on history.

I’m thinking we can stop this whole COVID thing by having people drink bleach and swallow powerful UV lighting. True presidential wisdom. Never heard z Biden say anything so remotely void of intelligence.
