Note to the talented and lovely Mrs. Michael Ian Black: please pretend you're Cher, smack your beloved husband in the face, and tell him to snap out of it.

His accounting of events is great - accurate, well written, and worthy of a current civics textbook.

But he's letting the infamous bastards get him down. In the words of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, we don't catastrophize, we organize.

I must believe, in my heart of hearts, that somewhere in the nation are good and decent young men and women who will defy the current political models and actually try to help make things better and unite and not divide us. If MLK Jr could have a dream, so can I.

I would like to think so, but at the same time, it seems logical to assume that the pendulum is going to have to swing much further to the right before things start turning around, and that could take generations.

Spot on. But I have a solution. VOTE THEM ALL OUT. Up and down the ticket. Make his cancer on society extinct like the Know Nothings.

Thst only works if you can get the majority of participating voters to go along. Unfortunately it seems that majority that participates is not gonna see it your way. I agree. They all need to go. But that requires logic, common sense and a United effort. I don’t see it.
