Hearing the news was like a gut punch, but also I felt a little relieved (in a scared and anxious way, if that's possible). I'm glad it happened with 100ish days left before the election. That's plenty of time for people to get behind a new candidate. My fear is people will find reasons not to join in solidarity. As Democrats, we often put principal over other solidifying factors. I do worry. I'll do my best to be on the side of making sure we win. Getting it done. Avoiding a complete disaster. I'm glad a decision was finally made, no more wondering will he, won't he.
